To fulfill our commitment to education and outreach of solar energy and other renewable energy fields, the Solarillion Foundation engages students, young professionals and the general public to propagate ideas and efforts in this domain.
Our social initiatives are conducted under the Solarillion Initiative. Having distributed several hundred lamps and having raised measurable awareness to over 1500 school and college students, we have only just begun. Our efforts to propagate the knowledge and need for solar and other renewable energy fields has culminated into several zonal and state-level workshops.
The State-level Solar Competition and Workshop was conducted successfully with participation from over 1900 students across 120 institutions in Tamil Nadu and the finals was attended by over 100 teams across India from 15 states.
The winners were presented the awards by the Energy Minister, Government of Tamil Nadu at the international conference and exhibition on renewable energy – RENERGY 2014-organized by Government of Tamil Nadu.
Some of our work in developing education and outreach content for emerging technologies in resource constrained environments was documented and published.
